Midhun P MAboutA bit about me

I'm a third-year CS undergrad at Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology, class of 2028, currently in semester five with a 9.70 CGPA. I got here by building things — my first real software was RyMeds, a pharmacy inventory system my team hacked together in semester one. It won our college hackathon, and more importantly, it was the first time something I made solved a problem someone actually had.

By semester three I was building ETLab+, a mobile app that rescued my batch from our college ERP's web portal — attendance, marks, and timetable on your phone instead of a desktop site from another era. Classmates installed the APK. That project taught me the difference between code that works and code that survives real users.

Somewhere along the way I fell down the AI rabbit hole. I started running quantized 8B models on an Intel Arc GPU via Vulkan and built Thursday, a local-first assistant with tools, memory, voice, and a Codex project studio. This year it took me from Codex Nightline in Kochi to the OpenAI Codex Community Hackathon in Bengaluru, where I got to learn from a room full of builders.

Between classes I'm the IEEE student branch's Technical Coordinator, I self-host my stack on an Ubuntu home server behind Tailscale, and I write C++ without a game engine to remind myself what frameworks are hiding from me. I'm looking for internships in backend, AI systems, and performance-critical work — the closer to the metal, the better.

“Build the thing. Read the docs when it breaks. Write down what you learned.”

Jan 2026 — Present

Technical Coordinator · IEEE Sahrdaya Student Branch

Leading the branch's technical initiatives and shipping production features to ieeesahrdaya.com. Built WC Predict '26, the chapter's FIFA World Cup prediction platform — 58+ players placed 737+ bets across pool and fixed-odds markets, with a live leaderboard and automated settlement.

Jun 2025 — Aug 2025

Frontend Developer Intern · Narrowlabs Technologies Pvt. Ltd

Built the login and dashboard UI for a job portal serving both recruiter and applicant roles. React, responsive components, real users — my first code that shipped to a production product.

04Proof of work

  • Second Place — AI Innovation Hackathon, ASIET

Built PRISM, an evidence-first workspace for AI-assisted handwritten-paper review, in 24 hours. Won a cash prize and an internship opportunity.

  • Selected — OpenAI Codex Community Hackathon, Bengaluru

One of around 60 participants selected from nearly 2,000 applications. Took Thursday, my local-first Linux desktop assistant, into the room.

  • Top 10 Finalist — OpenAI Codex Nightline Hackathon

Kochi Metro AI Sprint, July 2026. Built MetroMind with 100 curated builders in the world's first AI build sprint inside a moving metro system.

  • Best S1 Project — RyMeds

Pharmacy inventory system in Python and Tkinter, built with Team RYNEM.

  • Best S3 Project — ETLab+

Full-stack student companion for the college ERP — React Native, Spring Boot, real users.

  • Winner — College Hackathon, Semester 1

PYHACK, with Team RYNEM. The one that started all of this.

  • CGPA 9.70

B.Tech CSE, Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology.

05The semesters so far

  1. S1

RyMeds and a first hackathon win

Team RYNEM built a pharmacy inventory system in Python and Tkinter at PYHACK — expiry tracking, stock alerts, SQLite. We won the hackathon, and the project was later named Best S1 Project.

  2. S2

    Foundations

Went deeper on the unglamorous stuff — Java, data structures, and my first real React apps. Landed the Narrowlabs internship off the back of it.

  3. S3

    ETLab+

Built a full student companion for our college ERP — React Native app, Spring Boot backend, real-time scraping, AI query answering. Classmates installed the APK. Best S3 Project.

  4. S4

    Internship, IEEE, and WC Predict

Shipped production UI at Narrowlabs, became IEEE Technical Coordinator, and launched WC Predict '26 — 58+ players, 737+ bets. Built Thursday, a local-first AI assistant, on the side.

  5. S5 · Aug 2026

Three hackathons, three kinds of AI work

Built Probe Interview during VicoDathon, took Thursday to the OpenAI Codex Community Hackathon in Bengaluru, and placed second with PRISM at ASIET's 24-hour AI Innovation Hackathon.

  6. S4 · Jul 2026

    Top 10 at Codex Nightline

Presented MetroMind at the OpenAI Codex Nightline Hackathon — the Kochi Metro AI Sprint — and finished Top 10 among 100 curated builders.
